Inktomi
In 2003, Yahoo purchased the web index Inktomi for $235 million. Although the name Inktomi was relatively unknown, its search technology was fed across the web to powerful sites such as MSN and HotBot. These sites chose to lease results from Inktomi as opposed to building their own crawler-based engine.
MSN and others still receive results from this Index, which is now more commonly known as Yahoo! Search.
Our clients receive a comprehensive report on the details and requirements of each search engine and directory.
