Paid Inclusion Campaign Management

Paid Inclusion refers to the practice whereby a search engine charges a fee to list every URL or selected pages from your website. Although paid inclusion is nearly a thing of the past, it played an important part in the formative years of directories and search engines. For some of the major search engines, paid inclusion was the only way for your website to be included in the results. Paid inclusion did not guarantee that your website would rank highly in such search engines only that it would be included in the index.

With the rise of Google and other advanced, crawler-based engines, paid inclusion has become largely unnecessary, although Yahoo does still offer a paid inclusion service. Paid inclusion pertains to only the natural, or organic, search listings, and should not be confused with pay-per-click, which is a form of Internet advertising which supplements the natural search results.
